The Florida Keys is known for its off-the-wall, out-of-the-blue oddities that appear out of nowhere. This tiny named triangle piece of land between the intersection of three different streets fits the bill to a T.
Though I don’t know the story behind its naming, I do know that Rosemary’s Corner was established in 2007 by simply reading the sign. It consists of a placard, cement bench, landscaping, street sign, stop sign, and city sponsored electrical boxes. Oh yeah, if you choose to picnic here be aware that there’s a $100 fine for littering as posted on the backside of the stop sign! (seen below)
Rosemary’s Corner is best found on US-1’s Northbound divided highway at Mile Marker 92.6 oceanside. Turn on Burton Drive going down .6 miles on your left in the middle of a curve at the intersection of Second Street.
