Dr. John B. Maloney, founded Key West Drug Company in 1903 and then established the Louise Maloney Hospital in 1908. Though it has long since retired from being an active hospital, it’s now a local tourist attraction. The hospital’s exterior, grounds and landscaping are pristine as you can see. It’s seldom open but don’t let that stop you from walking by and looking at a part of Key West history recognized by the U.S. government for its significance and therefore preserved for our viewing pleasure.
You can find this historic hospital in Key West on the left hand side of the locals favorite shopping market Fausto’s Food Palace located at 522 Fleming Street.
