Football Fanatics In Key West

IMG_1739After this past weekend’s series of chilled-air football highlights on TV it’s time for some pure Florida sunshine! So here’s one for all you game day gridiron junkies on vacation in Key West that just can’t get enough at home!

Though I find the name of the game to be a bit weird to say the least, Cornhole (ok I said it) is played throughout the Keys at a number of bars, pub, grilles, & lounges. Each player stands about 30′ away from the target board with a hole in it and tosses 4 bean-bags hoping for success in entering the hole. The good part is that no matter how many games you play you’re not in danger of getting ‘Turf Toe’… I only expect you diehard pigskin patrons to get that one! 🙂

You can find the sunny outdoor Valhalla for football’s fanatic fans at the corner of Front Street & Simonton Street in front of the popular hangout Rum Barrel. ** Disclaimer: Hey, if this bar doesn’t have it the weekend you’re in town just keep looking! I’m sure someone will! ** 🙂
