Lobster Anyone?

Many tourist might be amazed in seeing what they consider an eyesore obstructing beautiful surroundings. To me, these brown oceanside boxes are pure scenic artistic beauty in waiting and part of the Key’s rich historic past & culture. The Florida Key’s are home to nearly 100,000 visible lobster traps along its 127 mile stretch. More prevalent in its mid and lower portion of the Keys, you’ll see stacks upon stacks & row after row of these faded jail cell barred boxes.

You can create your own memorable photo of beauty by simply chosing a portion of the lobster trap stack combined with an awesome background as the ocean and beachside tree seen here. Although lobster season may not be in full swing during your visit, be assured that these poster childs of past & present livelihoods are available year round for your viewing consumption. Whatever you do, don’t miss taking a least one photo of these lobster hotels where the residents check-in but never check-out! 🙂
