Dagny Johnson Botanical State Park

What a neat rarely seen park! If you haven’t been here and don’t mind walking or have a bike then put this on your list.

This State Park allows NO vehicles so bring your peddle-powered transportation or walking shoes. It’s a very large park if walking, we rode our bikes and it still took almost an hour to cover the main roads and every path (and I do mean EVERY path). 🙂

I’ve photographed the main attractions (seen below), they are: a land-covered two lane tunnel which is very cool, a traffic circle made into a botanical picnic area, and a winding river perfect for a romantic picnic!

Be sure to come by and see this rarely visited Dagny Johnson Botanical State Park. To find it get on US-1 and head to Mile Marker 107.0 turning onto Card Sound Road and go north one mile on your right. The Park itself costs only a few dollars and is based on the honor system at the un-manned front gate.
