The original White Street Pier AIDS Memorial was dedicated on World AIDS Day, December 1, 1997. The ground-level side walk portion of the memorial consists of embedded designs, heartfelt words and 730 names of those who have past. The newest portion (seen here) is an angled wall with engravings on one side and park benches on the other. This new addition was only completed this past year in ‘2014. There’s now more than 1,000 names forever carved into the beautiful marble on the Memorial.
Finding this is really EASY, just ask anyone in town where the White Street Pier is. OK, if that’s not good enough, take White Street located in the center of town and simply follow it to the Atlantic Ocean and there you’ll find it! 🙂
