Key West Port Operations

What a beautiful, well-kept and maintained display of anchors and deck gun this is! Look at the blue anchor below, it has 50 yellow stars painted upon it. I would assume for 50 United States, too awesome! All of these make EXCELLENT photos!

Unfortunately, unless you’re on a cruise ship docked here, if you’re military personnel, or by a stroke of fantastically good luck to be here on one of the few days they’re open to the public (as I was 🙂 )… if not, don’t worry too much! As you can see, the Naval Air Station Fence is within 3 feet of the gun & anchors pictured below. So no matter what, this beautiful collection of naval artifacts are out in the open available for public viewing.

You can find this naval cache of former equipment at the Key West Port Operations sandwiched between the abandoned naval sea base & Fort Zachary Taylor Civil War Fort. All three are well worth your time to search out these war-time relics.
